SeqDesk developer Philipp C. Münch (Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research) will give an invited keynote at the FAIR for Facilities workshop, hosted by the Quadram Institute in Norwich on 9–10 July 2026. The talk draws on SeqDesk's approach to FAIR sequencing-data management to show how core facilities can build FAIR practices into the way data is captured, processed, and published.

Philipp C. Münch (Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research) demonstrated the precursor to SeqDesk at GSC25, the 20th-anniversary meeting of the Genomic Standards Consortium, held at Clare College, University of Cambridge. The talk showed early work on capturing microbiome sequencing data and brokering it to public archives, the basis for SeqDesk's approach to FAIR sequencing-data management. The meeting celebrated two decades of community standards (including MIxS) for making genomic data findable and reusable across microbiomes, viromes, eDNA, and environmental and human health.
